What Makes a Great Workplace? Inside CTM’s People-First Culture

by Ish Mayhew

Culture at CTM Starts with Our Core Values

Everything we do at CTM is guided by our four core values: Community Driven, Customer Centric, Champions of Innovation, and Work with Purpose. These values aren’t slogans on a wall; they’re the standard we hold ourselves to in how we build our products, serve our customers, and, most importantly, take care of the people who make it all possible. A strong culture isn’t something you can order in for lunch. It’s something you build deliberately, starting with a foundation that puts employees first.

Empowering Our Team at CTM

Great cultures are built on substance. At CTM, that starts with making sure our team members are genuinely taken care of; in their paychecks, their health, their futures, and their careers.

That commitment shows up in concrete ways:

Equitable compensation. We believe great work deserves fair pay. CTM is committed to compensating employees equitably and competitively, so no one has to wonder whether they’re valued.

Strong, affordable benefits. Comprehensive health coverage shouldn’t come with a painful price tag. We invest in benefits plans that keep out-of-pocket costs manageable, so our team can focus on their work and their families—not their medical bills.

Support for the long term. Through HSA contributions and 401(k) matching, we help employees build financial security today and save meaningfully for retirement tomorrow.

Professional development. We grow carefully and purposefully as a company, and we want our people to grow with us. From skills training to advancement opportunities, CTM invests in helping every team member build the career they want.

And yes, we celebrate together, too. Our Events Committee creates moments throughout the year for team members to connect and build genuine connection. Those gatherings matter, and we’re proud of them. But they’re the expression of our culture, not the foundation of it. When people are paid fairly, supported fully, and given room to grow, celebration becomes what it should be: a genuine reflection of a team that’s proud to be here.

A Company That Gives Back

Celebration at CTM also means giving back. Guided by a unified vision of expanding opportunity, employees regularly lead fundraisers for causes with real-world impact, particularly organizations working to broaden access to education and technology. Through employee-led drives and CTM’s company donation match, these efforts add up.

As an outgrowth of CTM’s community-driven core value, every employee can take up to 24 hours of VTO each year to donate time to charitable causes of their choice. Popular picks include the Anne Arundel County Food Bank, the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS), and Santa’s Helpers Anonymous. Paired with an annual company match in charitable donations, it’s one more way CTM makes it easy for team members to give back.

Where Great People Do Their Best Work

Celebration is something that always unifies us at CTM. The staff routinely gathers to highlight important moments like being named one of Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces for the sixth year in a row. One of the big reasons for this recognition? A great company culture. All employees joined together to commemorate the moment with comments from CEO and COO, Todd and Laure Fisher, on CTM’s growth over the years, from a call tracking company running out of a basement to a major player in the call tracking and attribution industry. Though CTM has been profitable since day one, growth across teams and the pride we take in upholding a standard of excellence through investing in our staff through benefits, equitable pay, and career growth mentorship continues to drive CTM’s offerings to new heights of innovation, expansion, and profitability.

Says Laure, “Every single person has had an impact on this company and was hand-picked to be a part of this. We have always grown carefully and purposefully, and achieving this milestone reminds us that we can still be ‘us’ and keep our core values and culture in place and thriving as we get bigger.”

Why a Great Culture Is Good Business

Celebrations are the visible part of culture, but the payoff shows up in the numbers, too. Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace 2025 found that only 21% of employees worldwide are engaged, a decline that costs the global economy an estimated $438 billion in lost productivity each year. Purpose is one of the strongest levers for closing that gap: McKinsey research finds that employees whose sense of personal purpose aligns with their company’s is more engaged, more resilient, and more likely to stay. Culture-first companies, the ones that invest in their people and give them a mission to rally around, are best positioned to capture that upside.

In other words, taking care of our team isn’t only the right thing to do. It’s a big part of how CTM attracts great people, keeps them, and keeps growing.
